George Vertue was a shipbuilder according to the attached will and had substantial land/messuages. According to Mary’s will it would seem his ship business may have been based in Ipswich.

named in husband’s will. He also named Cornelius Collett as son-in-law, so presumably she was a Collett before becoming a Dowsing. There is marriage of Bence to Elizabeth Collet 1679, Boyd’s marriage index, but not sure which Bence.
